Get Custom T-Shirts Made Up For Your Youth Baseball Team

by Bojana Graus

When you coach a youth baseball team, you'll wear many hats beyond the ball cap you wear on the field. One of the responsibilities you'll have is entering the team in various tournaments in different cities and even in different states. When your team shows up at these events, you want everyone to look their best and look like a cohesive unit. Since the team won't be wearing its uniforms except during games, it's a good idea to have custom t shirts made up for the players. Everyone can wear the shirts during banquets and just hanging around between games, which will give the players a thrill and send a message to the opposition that your group means business. Here are some ideas for the shirts.

Names And Numbers

The custom T-shirts you make for your team can have some similarities to their uniforms, and a good place to start is by having each player's last name and uniform number emblazoned on the back of the shirt. The kids will love this idea — many youth baseball teams have jersey numbers but don't use last names, so your players will feel like big leaguers with their custom shirts on.

Player And Team Accomplishments

Since you're customizing the T-shirts by having the players' names and numbers depicted on the backs, you can further add custom elements to truly make each shirt a one-of-a-kind piece. On the front of the shirt, in addition to the team's logo, consider listing the team's notable results — especially if the group has played together for multiple seasons. Honors such as city champs, region champs, state champs and other such key moments, as well as the dates for each, can add a special touch to the shirts. You can also do up the shirts to list players' individual accomplishments, such as team MVP, all-star and other such honors.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Instead of asking parents to chip in for the entire cost of the custom T-shirts, think about contacting businesses in your community who might be interested in opportunities for sponsoring the team. You'll be able to easily fit a company's logo on each of the sleeves of the shirt, which will provide good publicity for the company, given that the players will likely wear their shirts around a lot. Even if doing so doesn't completely offset your design and printing costs, this strategy can dramatically reduce the amount that the parents will need to pay toward the shirts.

About Me

Finding Appropriate Attire

For years, I worked for a company that didn't care much about what I showed up in for work. I would wear really casual clothing, such as a tank top and a pair of cut off shorts. Unfortunately, once I got a better job, my new employer was less-than-enthused about my choice of duds. She explained that they were trying to make the customers feel comfortable and improve the store culture and asked that I wear more professional attire. I started shopping for items that would look neutral, and I was able to find some pieces that I looked great in. Check out this blog to learn more about finding appropriate attire.
