3 Tips For Keeping Your Cowboy Boots Looking Great

by Bojana Graus

When you first get your cowboy boots out of the box, they look flawless. The leather is shiny and clean, and the boot is free of dust, dirt, or any flaws at all. However, soon after wearing the boots, they will start getting dirty and worn. While some type of wear and tear is unavoidable, there are certain things that you can do to keep your boots looking better for longer. This article will discuss 3 tips for keeping your cowboy boots looking great.

Promptly Remove Any Dust

Whenever you wear your boots out and about, they are likely to gather some dust and dirt on them. While you may think that leaving this dust and dirt on your boots for a few days won't cause much harm, this may not be the case. The dust and dirt will settle into the cracks of the boots and can then become almost impossible to get out. To avoid this from happening, take a few minutes when you take your boots off for the day and dust them off. You can use a soft brush to remove the dust and dirt, and a cloth to remove any dried on spots that the brush won't remove. This takes just a few minutes, and can help your boots to look so much better.

Use A Leather Cleaner And Boot Cream On Your Boots

The leather on your boots will also begin to dry out over time, and will lose its shine. To help restore this shine and reduce the chances of the leather cracking, you can use a leather cleaner and boot cream on them. The leather cleaner helps to remove any stains or imperfections in the leather, and the boot cream restores the shine and seals in the cleaning. There is no set time for how often you need to clean your leather cowboy boots, but you can generally tell if your leather needs cleaning because it will look dry and dull.

Store Your Boots Out Of The Sun And Allow Them To Have Some Humidity

One very easy way to keep your boots looking great is to store them out of the sun. Keeping your boots in the sun can cause the leather to dry out and fade much more quickly than normal, reducing the life of your boots. You also want to avoid storing your boots in an area with no humidity, because this will cause them to dry out rapidly. It is best to keep the humidity levels low though so that your boots do not become damp, because this can also cause problems.

About Me

Finding Appropriate Attire

For years, I worked for a company that didn't care much about what I showed up in for work. I would wear really casual clothing, such as a tank top and a pair of cut off shorts. Unfortunately, once I got a better job, my new employer was less-than-enthused about my choice of duds. She explained that they were trying to make the customers feel comfortable and improve the store culture and asked that I wear more professional attire. I started shopping for items that would look neutral, and I was able to find some pieces that I looked great in. Check out this blog to learn more about finding appropriate attire.
